Which tool should you choose to create a free newsletter?
As a freelancer or small business, if you haven't already done so, you're bound to be sending emails to your customers to keep them up to date with your company's latest news: the launch of a new product, a new service or a special offer, for example. In fact, emailing is still a powerful conversion channel when used properly!

Sending newsletters: what's the alternative to MailChimp?
There are many solutions on the market for sending newsletters efficiently. There's no need to mention the success of American giant MailChimp, an excellent emailing tool used by millions of people worldwide. The HubSpot client platform also offers newsletter creation software which lets you create attractive, personalized newsletters that encourage interaction, and send them to targeted contact lists.
But today, we're going to tell you about an alternative we use for our customers: Brevo.
Brevo features
Brevo is a French tool that has been constantly evolving and improving since its creation in 2012. Like MailChimp, you'll be able to create forms that you can then integrate into your website. Also noteworthy is the ease with which these forms can be made 100% compatible with the new European General Data Protection Regulation (RGPD), thanks in particular to pre-designed fields. It's also very easy to manage your customer database and segment it according to several criteria, some of them very advanced.
Template creation is fast and intuitive. Thanks to an ingenious drag-and-drop system, you can create superb templates and send your campaigns in just a few minutes.

With regard to marketing automation, it will be easy to create automatic emailing scenarios based on contact actions: sending a welcome email after filling out a form, a reminder after abandoning a shopping cart, etc...
But there are also features not currently present in MailChimp, such as the ability to send transactional emails as well as marketing and transactional SMS messages to your subscribers, always with childlike simplicity.

The 2 main advantages of choosing this solution are :
- The price: unlike MailChimp, which becomes chargeable after 2,000 contacts, with Brevo the number of contacts is unlimited. You can send up to 300 emails/day for free. As an example, sending a simple monthly newsletter to 5,000 contacts will cost you €71 on Mailchimp (as part of the "Essentials" service, which also includes other features), while Brevo's "Starter" plan lets you send up to 5,000 monthly emails for just €7 a month.
- Language: the solution is entirely in French. MailChimp, on the other hand, is only available in English. Very useful if you're not familiar with the language of Shakespeare!
These are the advantages that make Brevo a real alternative for the self-employed and very small businesses in particular.
